Police Officer Thomas Carroll and his German Shepherd police working dog "Justice" patrol the Town of Kent together protecting our constituents as well as fellow officers.

Key Benefits

  • Officer Protection
  • Searches for people (lost children, lost elderly, criminals)
  • Locates hidden narcotics
  • Locates evidence

Time and time again Justice and PO Carroll prove themselves instrumental in achieving the objectives and missions of the Kent Police Department. Justice, due to his strength, agility, courage, and amazing olfactory capabilities is effectively utilized to assist in various police tasks. Justice has assisted in searching for potentially violent criminals and aided in the apprehension of fleeing criminals. Justice has located concealed narcotics contraband while on patrol and has participated in Putnam County Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force activities in the Town of Kent. PO Carroll and Justice have been an asset to the Putnam County Probation Office as well. Justice serves as Kent Police "ambassador" to our community. PO Carroll and Justice may be seen performing demonstrations for the public at Kent Community Day, Kent Elementary School, Kent Primary School, Kent Volunteer Fire Department Open House and other local events to help disseminate information about the Kent Police Department's mission, service to the community, and crime fighting efforts. Justice is currently the only police working dog routinely assigned to duty within Putnam County.
